Atanga Nji Paul, Minister of Territorial Administration who is also President of the National Hadj Commission chairs the 33rd session of the commission ahead of the 2023 Muslim pilgrimage. He welcomed all the members of the National Hadj Commission and appreciated the efforts they put in to ensure that the 2022 edition of Hadj was a success. Atanga Nji Paul said the required duration of stay for Muslim pilgrims in the Holy Land is 26 days and each year the National Hadj Commission has been improving on their work, thus eliminating the unnecessary and undesired stay of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia after the end of the pilgrimage. He said travelling conditions as well as lodging conditions have greatly been improved with pilgrims having less time to spend moving between their hotels and prayer grounds.
