Global Diabetes Initiative (GDI), a UK, US, and Cameroon based NGO, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Fed Fed Yaounde, hosted the highly anticipated 1st Diabetes Wellbeing Symposium. Esteemed dignitaries, including the Representative of the Minister of Public Health and the Ruler of Bali Nyonga, Dr. Doh Ganyonga III, graced the event held at Djeuga Hotel. The symposium primarily focused on addressing diabetes awareness, a growing concern worldwide. With over 10 distinguished speakers, the conference aimed to provide critical insights and promote a healthier lifestyle for individuals living with diabetes. Global Diabetes Initiative: Empowering Communities through Free Screenings and Support

  In an effort to combat the growing epidemic of diabetes and high blood pressure, the Global Diabetes Initiative (GDI), UK, US and Cameroon based NGO this Thursday November 16th 2023 organized a free screening event that successfully reached over 200 individuals. This event aimed to detect and provide necessary support to those living with diabetes, while also fostering awareness within the local community. Alongside the screenings, the association distributed free medication to patients in need. The free screening organized by Global Diabetes Initiative served as a critical step in identifying individuals at risk or already living with diabetes and high blood pressure. More than 200 people came forward to avail of this opportunity and receive a comprehensive examination. Trained medical professionals conducted various tests, including blood glucose levels and blood pressure measurements, ensuring accurate diagnosis and assessment. He welcomed all the members of the National Hadj Commission and appreciated the efforts they put in to ensure that the 2022 edition of Hadj was a success.
