Successful 1st Diabetes Wellbeing Symposium Empowers Diabetes Awareness




Global Diabetes Initiative (GDI), a UK, US, and Cameroon based NGO, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Fed Fed Yaounde, hosted the highly anticipated 1st Diabetes Wellbeing Symposium. Esteemed dignitaries, including the Representative of the Minister of Public Health and the Ruler of Bali Nyonga, Dr. Doh Ganyonga III, graced the event held at Djeuga Hotel.


The symposium primarily focused on addressing diabetes awareness, a growing concern worldwide. With over 10 distinguished speakers, the conference aimed to provide critical insights and promote a healthier lifestyle for individuals living with diabetes.


Matilda ANDIN CHONGWA, the visionary founder of GDI, took to the stage to present the NGO's roadmap since its establishment in 2022. Her passionate speech highlighted GDI's commitment to fighting diabetes and improving the lives of those affected by the disease.


Throughout the symposium, each speaker brought a unique perspective, sharing their knowledge and experiences surrounding diabetes prevention, management, and support. The collaborative effort of medical professionals, researchers, and individuals living with diabetes provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the condition and its impact on global health.

The Ruler of Bali Nyonga, Dr. Doh Ganyonga III, delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging individuals to actively participate in combating diabetes and working towards a healthier future. He didn't fail to appreciate his industrious daughter AC Matilda for the wounderful initiative encouraging her not to relent on the good job. 


The 1st Diabetes Wellbeing Symposium successfully united various stakeholders from the medical field, government agencies, NGOs, and the public, creating an environment of collective responsibility.
